Looks like we have a leak on our inlet side of the atwood water heater a pinhole leak in the part that connects to the pex. You can see the corrosion from minerals in our water it s been doing this a while apparently. Lastly the most common cause of a leaking water tank. On a recent trip our water pump kept cycling about once every 20 seconds. It s not the fitting but actually on the tank inlet. If the water heater is heating the water too much the excessive pressure may be causing the t p valve o leak. Observe if water will again appear sometime after you finish drying up.

It is counterproductive to prevent water from flowing to your water heater while confirming if there is a leak or not. Otherwise you risk severe damage t. As discussed above when sediment builds up in the bottom of a water tank for years and years it will eventually corrode through the bottom of the tank and begin to leak. Once a pinhole leak is opened up the pressure of the water inside the tank forcing its way through the opening will cause the leak to get larger over time.

Salt and other chemicals in the sediment may lead to premature rusting or corrosion inside of a water heater and eventually cause pinhole leaks to form. If the valve was removed recently it s possible it is now failing to seal properly. Using a rug mop or paper towels wipe the puddles of water on the rv s floor or surface that you suspect is coming from a leak.
